From the house
Ferienhaus Evelyn sits in the middle of Vorderlanersbach. The lift, the supermarket, the sports shop and the first pizza of the evening are all a few minutes' walk away, so the car can stay parked all week.
Our restaurant tips
The nicest place to eat is with us, in the restaurant at the Finkenbergerhof. And because a holiday needs variety, you will also find our favourite addresses in the valley here. A reservation is almost always worth it in high season, and we are happy to help with it.
Restaurant at Hotel Finkenbergerhof
The Finkenbergerhof also belongs to the Eberl family, and this is where you collect your key. Stefan has been at the stove since childhood and cooks fresh every evening: a three to four course menu that changes daily, with two main dishes to choose from, a salad buffet and homemade desserts. Jus, stocks, pasta and desserts are made in house, and the ingredients come from suppliers in the Zillertal that Stefan knows personally.
As a guest at Ferienhaus Evelyn you are very welcome in the evening. A short call is all it takes and the table is reserved.
In Vorderlanersbach
Pizzeria Platzl
The village classic, less than three minutes from the house. Crisp pizza, generous salads and a team that is still in good spirits late in the evening.
Die Pension, Das Lokal
At our neighbours', right by the Rastkogelbahn valley station. Traditional cooking, a sun terrace and après ski in winter. Just right if you do not want to walk far on your arrival evening.
Hotel Alpin Spa Tuxerhof
Tyrolean tradition and refined cooking with regional ingredients, just a few steps from the house. For a special evening, please reserve in advance.
In the centre of Lanersbach
Swings
The most modern place in the valley and number one with guests and locals alike. Burgers, stone oven pizza, tataki and risotto. Reservation recommended.
Tuxer Grillkuchl
Schnitzel, spare ribs and steaks from the grill, with a help yourself salad buffet. Down to earth and just right for families with a bigger appetite.
Bergfriedalm
Warm wood, long evenings, good fondue. Open from late afternoon and the right place when a meal is allowed to turn into an evening.
Restaurant Jäger at Hotel Jäger
Tyrolean classics reinterpreted, plus international dishes. The house speciality is the venison ragout. À la carte and open to guests who are not staying at the hotel.
CITY Café-Bar Tux
From ice cream and coffee in the afternoon to pasta and burgers in the evening. Open daily and handy when everywhere else has its closing day.

For a festive evening in the village. Classic cooking at a high level and a wine cellar worth seeing. By prior arrangement.
Stopping off on the mountain
Berggasthaus Eggalm
A large sun terrace with a view across the whole valley, plus a trampoline, climbing wall and water playground for the children. Please bring cash.
Grieralm
A hike that works well with children too. At the top there is very good food, a lovely playground and, a little higher up, a mountain lake. Run by the Wildauer family.
Bichlalm Hintertux
A small hut with a big panorama, a few minutes from Hintertux. Kasnudeln, Kaiserschmarrn and a goulash soup that carries you through half the day.
Sommerbergalm
The first stop on the Hintertux Glacier, right at the top station. Alpine cooking, a huge sun terrace and the best view of the glacier.
Tuxer Fernerhaus
High up on the glacier, self service with a wide choice from soup to ribs. The view from the terrace is the real reason to stop here.
Jausenstation Lattenalm
A rustic hut above Vorderlanersbach, on the way down in winter and the goal of an easy hike in summer. Tyrolean specialities, hearty home cooking and milk from their own cows.
A trip to Mayrhofen
Bruggerstube
Regional produce, some of it from their own farm, generous portions and a playground for the children. For many regulars the best food in the whole Zillertal.
Goldkind
Right in the village centre, with an open kitchen and the best vegetarian and vegan choice for miles around.
nami asian fusion kitchen
For the evening when it should not be schnitzel. Tempura, curry and sushi in generous portions, with an affordable weekday lunch menu.
Tweets Rooftop Restaurant & Lounge
On a rise in Ramsau, with a roof terrace and a view across the Zillertal. Tyrolean cooking meets international influences, vegetarian and vegan included. Very popular with our guests and often fully booked.
Metzgerwirt Zillertal
A little outside Mayrhofen, in Laimach near Hippach. Tyrolean cooking with meat from their own butchery and regional ingredients. The drive is worth it.
Pizzeria del Corso
Original Neapolitan pizza from the stone oven, plus homemade Italian classics. In summer you sit on the large sun terrace, and there is a collection service for takeaway.
Everything there when you need it
Bread for breakfast, forgotten gloves or a prescription after a fall on the piste. These addresses will help you through everyday life here.

MPREIS miniM Vorderlanersbach
The nearest supermarket, a few minutes' walk from the house and right next to the Rastkogelbahn. Compact, but with a good selection.
SPAR Wechselberger
The larger shop in the village centre, with regional products such as Tux milk and cheese. The best address for the weekly shop.
Dorfbäckerei Stock
A traditional bakery next to the village church, open from six in the morning. It also supplies the Finkenbergerhof with its breakfast bread.
Sport, rental & service
Insider Sportshop Tux
The rental shop around the corner, only a few steps from the house and from the Rastkogelbahn valley station. Good advice, current equipment.
Tuxer Sporthaus
Right next to the Eggalmbahn valley station. Bookable online, and equipment can be swapped at any time during the rental period.
Bernhard Sport Mode Tux
For everyone who would rather buy skis or boots than rent them. Testing right on the slope is possible, with boot fitting by experienced technicians.

General practice with x-ray on site, in the centre of Lanersbach. The first place to go with an injury on the piste.
Dr Peter Peer
A practice for general and family medicine, with consultations at weekends too. Experienced with ski injuries and the paperwork for insurance.
Steinbock Apotheke
The nearest pharmacy is in Mayrhofen, around 20 minutes away by car. Prescriptions from the Tux doctors are filled here.
Europa-Apotheke Ramsau
A little closer than Mayrhofen, on the way into the Zillertal. Prescriptions from the Tux doctors are filled here too.
Tux-Finkenberg tourist board
Hiking maps, the events programme and information on the guest card. With the card you travel by bus in the valley free of charge.
From the house to the piste
The Rastkogelbahn valley station is 130 metres away and takes you straight into the Ski- und Gletscherwelt Zillertal 3000. Via the Eggalm and the Rastkogel you reach Mayrhofen without a detour, and on the Hintertux Glacier skiing runs from the end of September into July. Add toboggan runs, winter walking paths and cross country trails on the valley floor. The ski bus stops 400 metres from the house and is free with the guest card.
Hiking, biking, breathing out
In summer the trails start right at the house. From an easy loop in the valley to a tour across the Tux Alps, everything is there, with a stop at the Lattenalm, the Eggalm or the Grieralm included. Mountain bike and e-bike routes also start outside the door, and you will find rentals in the village. For rainy days the Erlebnisbad Mayrhofen and the Zell adventure park are worth it, and for long days the Schlegeis reservoir and the Zillertal Höhenstraße.
Up early with the Rastkogelbahn, sitting in the sun on the Eggalm at midday, back down to the valley over the Lattenalm in the afternoon and a table at the Finkenbergerhof restaurant in the evening. That is what a perfect day looks like for us.
How to find us
Vorderlanersbach 88, 6293 Tux. From the Zillertal main road via Mayrhofen into the Tux valley, with parking right at the house. By train to Jenbach, on with the Zillertalbahn to Mayrhofen and then the local bus to Vorderlanersbach.
