To understand why Ferienhaus Evelyn is the way it is, you only need to walk a few houses up the street. That is where Haus Hanser stands, built by Eva’s father, and where Eva was born and raised. For her, Vorderlanersbach was never just a holiday destination; it has always been home.

In the 1970s, her father built a second house just a few steps from the first and named it Haus Evelyn. It was intended for the family, built with the certainty that you can make a life where you come from. Back then, there was no sign of the ski tourism we know in the Tuxertal today. The Rastkogel lift was only built years later, and today its valley station is less than 130 metres from the house, close enough to walk over in your ski boots in the morning.

When Eva met her husband Stefan and they got married, she moved to be with him in Finkenberg, less than a ten-minute drive away, yet far enough that Haus Evelyn was left behind without her.

It wasn't meant to stand empty, though. At first, it was home to long-term tenants; today, it welcomes holiday guests staying for a few days. For Eva, it is and always will be her father’s house, and when she hands over the keys, she is sharing a piece of her family history, too.
